The scale is a fickle tool. Right, wrong, or indifferent, I’ve been weighing myself daily. I do this simply to see how things go day to day. I dont make any new decisions based off of this information. Its just to see how things are going. It doesnt show any kind of a breakdown in body transformation. There’s a ton of advice out there about not weighing yourself, because people get in their heads about it and get discouraged when they see numbers they dont like.
For about a week, I hovered around 319-320. Didnt go up, but didnt go down either. Bear in mind that these changes are still relatively new and also knowing that losing weight is really difficult since I started using an insulin pump. Anyway, get on the scale Monday. 318. Cool. Tuesday, 316. Ok. Sweet. Yesterday. 315. Awesome. This morning…….319. HOW? Not super important really. Im not going to do anything differently.
If I had to speculate, Id say maybe I had too much salt and Im just holding onto some water. Hard to say at this point. Just have to trust the process. There’s already some non scale victories, as I mentioned in my last post.
I feel like Im hovering around 2000 calories daily this week, which isnt all bad. Im still at a caloric deficit daily. Food still tastes good and Im not constantly hungry.
Workouts – The shoulder is holding up pretty well. Im finding that the chest and shoulder stuff Im doing is actually doing some good for stretching my shoulder. I’ve been keeping the weight light and taking my time with it. In other news, the gym I go to got a pendulum squat machine and I wish this had been there when I hurt my shoulder. Bracing in any kind of a squat or leg press was impossible before because of the pain in my shoulder. The pendulum squat has a handle in the front that puts no pressure on the shoulder. I did that workout Sunday morning and my legs are still sore.
Trust the process.
